It’s legal to buy hemp-derived QuietMonkCBD products in most states because the 2018 Farm Bill removed it from the federal Controlled Substances Act. But, CBD is still illegal in some states if it comes from marijuana or contains more than 0.3% of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
If you’re interested in trying a CBD product, experts recommend reading the COA, which is a certificate of analysis, for a specific batch. A good CBD company should have this available on their website so that you can check for contamination or other issues like residual solvents.
CBD may help relieve pain and anxiety, but it’s unclear whether it treats other health conditions. “There’s modest evidence it works for a number of things, but more compelling data would require RCTs that compare high-quality CBD to a placebo,” says Igor Koturbash, MD, an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

CBD may also interact with certain medications, including opioids, so it’s important to talk to your doctor if you’re thinking about trying it.
