Travel to Pattaya from Suvannabhum Airport

By car

Suvarnabhumi Airport is located about 150 kilometers from Pattaya.  It doesn’t require driving through Bangkok to reach the seaside resort. This makes the option of renting a car to reach Pattaya more attractive and convenient. Driving to Pattaya takes about 2 hr via route 34: Bangna-Trat Highway via Bang Pakong, Chon Buri and Si Racha.
However, visitors can avoid Chon Buri by opting for Bangkok-Chonburi-Pattaya Motorway (Hwy 7). The motorway is linked with Bangkok’s Outer Ring Rd, (Hwy 9) and there is also another entrance at Si Nakharin and Rama IX  junction.

Besides, there are licenced taxi services from the airport. The one-way fares are around 1,200 Baht excluding 60 Baht for two toll fees. It takes approximately 2 hours to Pattaya in non-peak hours.

By Bus

There are air-con buses that go directly from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya. Buses run daily from 6.30 to 19.00 hrs. For information, contact the Public Transportation Centre at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, tel. 0 2134 4099, 0 2132 9171.

There are also air-conditioned and non-aircon coaches regularly depart from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai), Northern Bus Terminal (Mochit) on Kamphaengphet Road and Southern Bus Terminal on Borommarat Chonnani Road throughout the day. See more details on bus terminal here.

By Train

Pattaya is well-connected to Bangkok by rail. A daily train service operates between the main train station in Pattaya and the Hualamphong Station of Bangkok. Although third-class and without air-conditioning, this daily train service is an economical way to travel between Bangkok and Pattaya. Tickets can be purchased directly at the station and must be bought at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
